VFA NEWSLETTER / NOVEMBER 2012

Letter from the CEO

I am pleased to report that VFA continues to grow and prosper despite anemic growth in the US economy. VFA’s revenues are accelerating in the second half of the year and we project an annual revenue growth of over 15%. On July 6th, VFA acquired Altus Capital Planning, a business unit of Altus Group, enabling VFA to consolidate and strengthen its leadership position for facilities capital planning throughout Canada and the United States. We have gained almost 100 prestigious new clients year-to-date in 2012 and I want to welcome each and every one of you into the VFA family.

I wrote this letter on my recent flight back to Boston from Toronto, where I attended a reception at our new office in Vaughan, Ontario. By consolidating our Mississauga and Newmarket offices, VFA will be better able to support our rapidly growing customer base in eastern Canada.

VFA has always been a leader and innovator in capital planning solutions. We recently released VFA.auditor Mobile™ Version 4.0 with offline access to existing requirements and the extensive VFA Systems Library, as well as a new touch centric user interface familiar to iPad® users. Enhanced search capabilities are now available with the release of VFA.facility® 10.1. Also available in 10.1 is a Web services platform enabling a more extensible, adaptor-based interface for data exchange with other third-party applications. VFA.spendManager® version 9.0 provides a more cohesive integration with VFA.facility. The resulting end-to-end capital management solution lets organizations identify requirements, prepare and approve budgets with a workflow process, track spending throughout the project, and close requirements. No other company offers such an extensive array of product capabilities for facility capital planning and management.

It is a personal pleasure to see our clients and employees acknowledged for their hard work and dedication. I want to extend my congratulations to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Facilities Division on being the 2012 recipient of the International Facility Management Association’s Sheila Sheridan Award for Sustainable Design and Energy Efficient Projects. Also, congratulations to VFA employee Susan Buchanan; her January/February 2012 Facility Management Journal (FMJ) article “Sustainability on a Budget” was selected as one of the top twelve articles of the year by FMJ. Susan was awarded the 2012 FMJ Award during IFMA’s World Workplace 2012 Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Texas.

I want to convey my personal thanks to all VFA clients and partners for your continuous support. We appreciate the confidence you place in us by entrusting VFA with your business. We will continue to work hard to uphold your confidence and exceed your expectations. I want to invite you to the VFA annual customer conference, VFA Connections, to be held April 21-23, 2013 at the Seaport Boston Hotel. Please save the date, as more information will be provided after the first of the year. I hope many of you will be able to attend!

Regards,

Jerry Kokos
