VFA NEWSLETTER / AUGUST 2014
|Bill Olsen, VFA’s Senior Vice President of Product Development, is always thinking about how our software applications can better enable our clients to deliver facilities capital planning excellence in their organizations. We caught up with Bill in between meetings with clients, our own assessment professionals and his development group and asked him for a sneak preview of what he is planning to deliver over the next year.|
Here’s what he told us:
The product development team is very excited to be working on the next generation of the VFA.facility user interface. Currently slated for availability with version 11.0, the new interface will feature a role-based design. With this design, the most critical information and commonly used features and actions are presented to the user based on their role in the organization. There is heavy emphasis on minimizing the number of mouse clicks needed to perform a task. We expect this to be a productivity enhancer and enabler for adoption.
Just like VFA FacilityView and VFA.auditor, the new VFA.facility user interface will be designed using new HTML5-based Web technology. This will allow VFA.facility 11 to run on the latest browsers and platforms. This includes tablets such as the Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Microsoft Surface V2, and desktop/laptop based computers.
Starting this fall, we’ll be introducing the new user interface through a series of beta tests with increasing levels of functionality. If you are interested in participating in the beta testing, please email email@example.com or contact your VFA Business Director.
