Looking Ahead in 2011

Letter from the CEO

VFA realized continued growth and success in 2010. Despite the economic recession, we added 43 new customers, including British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education, the City of Burlington, Ontario, the New Mexico Public Schools Facilities Authority, Quebec CEGEPS (Colleges), the State of Minnesota, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and University College London. Today, we help more than 500 corporate, education, government, and healthcare organizations strategically manage their facility capital assets.

In 2010, we significantly enhanced our growing portfolio of products and services. From assessment services to sustainability efforts, to seismic services and our industry-leading software products, VFA continues to provide our customers with a wide array of products and services to fit their needs. I am particularly excited about the new release of VFA.auditor® software, our self-assessment survey platform. VFA.auditor with mobile/offline survey support is a natural extension of the Web-survey solution that streamlines and accelerates the overall management of the data capture process. Facility managers can instantaneously synchronize data with the VFA.facility building system information. VFA.auditor has received strong market acceptance and we look forward to implementing its capabilities with many of our clients in 2011. Clients such as the Ontario Realty Corporation and the State of Maine have found great success implementing the VFA.auditor solution for guided assessments to collect accurate facility condition data on their sizable portfolios.

VFA continued growing its presence in the UK with ongoing assessments at University College London (UCL), which is now using VFA.facility to make informed decisions about their property portfolio. VFA’s solution will enable UCL to objectively prioritize projects and create benchmarking information, as well as more accurately forecasting capital requirements. In the US and Canada, VFA is recognized as the leader in facility capital planning and management solutions.

Last year, VFA was once again publicly recognized for its achievements. VFA was named to the Software 500, Software Magazine’s list of the world’s top software and service providers for the eighth consecutive year. One of our longstanding customers, the Ontario University System, was named a winner of the Real Property Institute of Canada’s Real Property Award for implementing a Facility Condition Assessment Program (FCAP) as part of an integrated Capital Planning and Management Solution (CPMS). VFA’s Energy Assessment Service was recognized with Building Operating Management (BOM) magazine’s 2011 Top Products Award.
