Position Summary:
VFA, the leader in facility capital planning and management solutions, is looking for a Project Director to join our services team. This is a senior management position with 10+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will oversee staff during the delivery of assessments and related facilities consulting services as well as translate complex client requirements into service and software solutions. This position reports to the Vice President of Professional Services.
Job Functions::
- Responsible for overall client relationship during all phases of contracts.
- Oversee and manage project risks, overall budget, project costs, schedule and staff requirements.
- Craft strategic solutions and provide management and technical oversight to VFA project managers and A/E staff. Translate clients’ requirements into technical functions whether method or software related.
- Manage client expectations; oversee quality assurance, contract compliance and communications.
- Possess understanding of facilities management related topics such as capital planning, budget preparation, maintenance management, FM organizational structures and processes, contract administration, etc. and apply toward VFA delivered services.
- Have solid understanding and experience with sustainability and green building practices, technologies and strategies for existing buildings. USGBC LEED EB experience beneficial but not necessary.
- Provide technical support to sales staff as required to secure business, including sales presentations, software demonstrations, technical proposal preparation, labor and pricing estimates, etc.
- Help develop new service offerings and/or expand offerings into new markets. Support VP in strategic growth plans. Work with other Project Directors and Project Managers to maintain quality and consistency in process and deliverables.
Requirements:
Degree in architectural or engineering discipline, or project management. Minimum of 10 years managing professional A/E related services with solid leadership. Previous experience in related fields is essential in government, corporate, education, or healthcare markets.
- Experience in working with clients to achieve sustainability goals for their existing building portfolio.
- Experience in presenting to and communicating with clients at executive levels.
- Strong knowledge of computer skills and experience in delivery of software solutions.
- U.S. and International travel.
