Post-Conference Software Training Sessions

Following the conference, one-day software training sessions are available to VFA Connections participants at a discounted rate. Courses will be held at training centers in downtown Boston, within a short distance of the Renaissance Boston Waterfront.

VFA.facility Refresher/Introductory Training

This fast-paced one day course will provide an overview of the functionality of and concepts behind VFA.facility, including the Asset, Funding, Project, Reports and Import Modules. It will include a discussion of asset data entry and management strategies, as well as a review of data analysis techniques though reporting, ad hoc querying, project planning and funding scenarios.

Prerequisites

Participants should possess basic Internet and Microsoft Windows navigation skills, have previously used Microsoft Word and Excel or similar programs, have an understanding of basic concepts of facility management, and be familiar with cost estimation concepts.

Course fees include copy of user manual and supplemental materials.

VFA.facility Advanced Report & Funding Training


This one day course will take an in-depth look at how to leverage VFA.facility reports to analyze facility data, understand asset condition and renewal costs, explore the impact of inflation and backlog deterioration, and make the case for funding. Topics will include creating funding scenarios, the effects of FCI settings on reports, favorites and filters, reporting out on configured fields, strategies for funding schemes, and using the data browser.

  • VFA.facility Introduction / Refresher Course or equivalent
  • Knowledge of your organization's reporting need

    VFA.spendManager Administrator and Workflow Training

    We will begin with an overview of concepts important to the effective administration of VFA.spendManager, including user roles, organization collections and reporting. We will then focus on understanding and troubleshooting workflows in VFA.spendManager. Learn the concepts behind VFA.spendManager workflow tools and get expert advice on interpreting workflow information. The session will include workflow tricks and techniques for VFA.spendManager administrators, and demonstrations of building, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting VFA.spendManager workflows in your application.

  • VFA.spendManager Introduction or equivalent
  • Knowledge of your organization’s capital spend management process
