VFA and UNICCO Executives to Present Facility Condition Assessment/CMMS Best Practices at Tradeline Conference

Boston, MA - March 15, 2006 - VFA®, Inc., the leading provider of software and services for facilities asset management and capital planning, today announced that VFA’s Vice President of Corporate Sales Jim Blaschke and Unicco CIO Jeff Peterson will present an education seminar, titled “Making Facility Condition Assessments an Integral Part of CMMS-based Capital Management Programs,” at the Tradeline Conference in Hilton Head, SC. This presentation will be given at 1:10 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006. Those interested in attending should visit: www.tradelineinc.com

Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) are an important component of effective capital planning. In their presentation, Jeff Peterson and Jim Blaschke will discuss:
  • Key management processes for integrating FCAs into Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
  • The latest automation tools and methods for the hard realities of properly analyzing FCA findings;
  • Steps for establishing project prioritization, assessing manpower and equipment constraints, establishing budgets, implementing work schedules, and using capital-project performance metrics.

Facing the effects of mergers, high energy prices, aging buildings, new regulatory measures and the push toward greater fiscal responsibility, organizations need accurate facility condition information across their portfolio, and more sophisticated systems to support the capital planning process. VFA’s Capital Planning & Management Solution (CPMS™) provides organizations such as Corning, Georgetown Law Center, Sovereign Bank and KaiserPermanente, with superior return-on-capital investment of multi-building portfolios in excess of one million square feet of property. CPMS enables these organizations to collect reliable, accurate and current facility condition information, and provide a single view of that information in a centralized database. Organizations use that data to calculate costs associated with the maintenance and upkeep of each building, and understand the impact of funding scenarios on portfolio condition.
