VFA Introduces VFA.auditor for Guided Facility Evaluations

New Addition to VFA Software Suite Guides Non-Expert Personnel
in Auditing Facility Condition

Boston, MA and NFM&T Conf./Expo, Baltimore, MD - March 7, 2006 - VFA®, Inc., the leading provider of software and services for facilities capital planning and asset management, today announced the release of VFA.auditor™, a new application in VFA's software suite. VFA.auditor guides personnel who are not experts in facility assessment in collecting information about the condition of an organization's facility portfolio. VFA also announced today the release of version 7 of VFA.facility®, the Company's flagship capital asset planning and management software.

VFA.auditor assists organizations in collecting baseline data about facilities and systems. The Web-based software guides facility managers, maintenance personnel and others who may lack expertise in facility assessments to gather consistent and reliable information across a diverse portfolio. Data collected with VFA.auditor can be used to support development of portfolio-wide budget estimates and to identify areas requiring detailed assessment.

"Many of VFA’'s customers have large and diverse facility portfolios," said Melanie Ziegler, Vice President of Software Development at VFA. "VFA.auditor empowers their internal personnel to cost effectively gather initial facility condition information employing best-in-class methodologies, and pinpoint where professional assessments are most warranted."

Key features and highlights of VFA.auditor include:

  • Form-based, standard question sets about major building systems
  • A glossary complete with photographs to support the collection of condition information
  • The ability to create customized questionnaires for collecting specialized data, for example, on ADA compliance, life and safety issues, or energy efficiency
  • The ability to set up workflows and assign approval rights based on role.
  • Fully compatible with VFA.facility
"VFA is committed to providing customers with the full spectrum of software and services they need to optimally manage their capital assets," said Jerry Kokos, President and CEO of VFA, Inc. "VFA.auditor addresses the needs of many organizations to quickly get an overall picture of the condition of their facility portfolio, and jumpstart the budgeting process. It also gives customers the ability to target specialized areas such as regulatory compliance or environmental standards, and to rapidly estimate the cost of those requirements."
