U.S. Army Awards $2.8 Million Contract to VFA to Assess Medical Facilities
VFA to Assess Approximately 27 Million Square Feet of Health Facilities Managed by the U.S.
Army Medical Command
Boston, MA - January 9, 2006 - VFA®, Inc., the leading provider of software and services for facilities management and capital planning, today announced that the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), has engaged VFA to provide comprehensive condition assessments of U.S. Army medical facilities worldwide. Under the terms of the contract, valued at $2.8 million, VFA will complete detailed assessments of approximately 27 million square feet of health facilities managed by MEDCOM, including medical treatment facilities providing preventive care, medical research, development and training. The assessments will be conducted over a seven month period beginning in January 2006.
This engagement represents the second comprehensive assessment of health facilities that VFA has conducted for U.S. Army Medical Command. MEDCOM previously implemented VFA’s capital asset planning and management software, VFA.facility®, which is currently used by over 75 personnel of the MEDCOM to support multi-year capital budgeting and capital project planning across its facilities.
