Ministry of Education and Ministry of Advanced Education Renew with VFA Canada

BURNABY, B.C.—March 11, 2014—VFA Canada Corporation, the leading provider of end-to-end solutions for facilities capital planning and asset management, today announced that British Columbia’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Advanced Education have again selected VFA Canada to help strategically manage their facility portfolios.

The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Advanced Education, all colleges, universities, institutes, and 60 school districts in British Columbia have been clients of VFA Canada for the past five years. Both Ministries recently completed a six-month, 180-degree evaluation of VFA’s software and services, as well as the delivery, resources, and all project components ranging from planning to reporting.  The result was approval to continue with another five-year contract valued at more than $10 million. Under the terms of the agreement, VFA Canada will conduct assessments to evaluate the condition of more than 1,800 educational facilities encompassing approximately 10 million square metres. Both sectors will continue to use VFA.facility®, North America’s leading facilities capital planning software. They will also use the facility self-assessment software VFA.auditor®, a patented, cloud-based solution that provides users with mobile surveys to rapidly collect and update facility condition data to ensure that plans and reports reflect the current status of the portfolio.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with British Columbia’s educational ministries in support of planning and managing their facilities for strategic value,” said Susan Anson, president, VFA Canada. “The validation of our solution for an ongoing facilities capital planning program is much appreciated, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to support the K-12 and post-secondary educational missions in the province.”

VFA Canada recently finalized a renewal contract with British Columbia’s Ministry of Education and Ministry of Advanced Education in the amount of $10.6 million.  It is VFA’s custom to have a ‘bell ringing’ celebration when a contract is signed and closed – but this time, we did it a bit differently.  The Ministry of Education team joined the Burnaby office in a ‘lunch and cake’ celebration, and witnessed what the win means to VFA employees.

From the looks and smiles on their faces, they certainly enjoyed participating in the celebration.  Pictures were taken and shared; the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable; and both sides appreciated the opportunity to be a little less business-like and share the special moment together.

VFA Canada is looking forward to many more inclusive celebrations like this!
